Taco photography that shows every layer

Your real tacos, relit so the fillings stack, the garnish pops and the salsa glistens — nothing faked.

Before
Phone photo of tacos under flat light, fillings crushed into a beige fold with dull garnish and matte salsa
After
Relit tacos with separated layers of seasoned meat, fresh coriander and onion, glossy salsa and a charred tortilla on a menu-ready plate

Tacos are small, packed and shot from awkward angles, which makes them sneaky-hard. The appeal is in the layers — seasoned meat, onion, coriander, a wedge of lime, a glossy drizzle of salsa — but a flat phone photo crushes them into a beige fold where nothing stands out. The soft tortilla loses its texture, the garnish goes dull and the salsa stops catching light. Tacos also collapse and weep fast, so timing is brutal. PlateRefresh relights the plate you built so the fillings separate with contrast, the coriander and onion read fresh, the salsa regains its sheen and the tortilla shows its char, all true to the tacos you actually served.

Layers, not a beige fold

A taco sells on visible layers: meat, then garnish, then a glossy sauce on top. Flat light merges them into one dull tone and the build looks empty. PlateRefresh relights with directional shaping so the filling, onion, coriander and salsa read as distinct layers, making each taco look generous. It works from the tacos you plated rather than restacking them.

Fresh garnish and glossy salsa

Bright coriander, sharp white onion and a glistening salsa are the freshness cues diners scan for. Under phone flash the green goes grey, the onion disappears and the salsa looks matte. The relight restores colour and sheen so the garnish pops and the sauce catches light, using only what is already drizzled and scattered on your tacos.

Made for Uber Eats, DoorDash and Bolt Food

Tacos are an impulse order, so the thumbnail does heavy lifting on Uber Eats, DoorDash and Bolt Food. Because PlateRefresh relights your genuine tacos instead of generating a stock plate, the photo stays accurate to what arrives. Deliveroo has reported menus with photos see around 25% more orders, so a vivid taco shot is well worth the upload.

FAQ

Good to know.

Can you make my tacos look fuller?

The relight uses directional light and contrast so the existing layers separate and the build reads generous. It does not add meat, garnish or fillings that were not there. The tacos in the photo are the ones you plated, lit to show every layer.

Will the coriander and onion still look fresh?

Yes. The relight restores colour and contrast so green coriander and white onion stand out again after a flash dulled them. It works only with the garnish already on your tacos and never scatters in extra toppings.

My salsa looks flat and matte. Can the shine come back?

It can. The relight returns the glossy sheen to the salsa already drizzled on your tacos, so it catches light and reads fresh. Nothing is added; the sauce stays exactly where and how much you served on the plate.
